Local Security Arrest Bandit Informant in Zamfara State

A vigilante group in Zamfara State has apprehended an individual named Hamisu Abdullahi for allegedly aiding bandits in coordinating attacks. 

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed this information on Tuesday, May 14, via his social media handle.

According to reports, Hamisu Abdullahi was arrested on May 13, 2024, in Kabrawa, under the Farfaru Emirate, Maru Local Government Area, and subsequently handed over to security forces.


Intelligence sources revealed that Hamisu’s spying activities, along with those of his accomplices, were responsible for the attacks on troops and towns in Maru and other Local Government Areas in Zamfara State.

During interrogation, Hamisu confessed to revealing troops’ movements and positions to his bandit collaborators. 

An investigation is currently ongoing to uncover the network of local informants whose nefarious activities have endangered troops conducting clearance operations in Zamfara State.
