“I am Wizkid, Davido and Burnaboy’s Godfather” – Oritse Femi laments

Veteran Nigerian singer Oritse Femi has made some explosive claims in a podcast interview, stating that he is the “godfather” of popular artists Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

He alleges that he supported and encouraged them when they were just starting out in the music industry, even providing a place for Burna Boy to stay at his Lekki home.

Oritse Femi expressed frustration and disappointment, feeling that despite his contributions to their success, they are now laughing at him on social media.

He claimed that he made a significant amount of money during a time when many others were struggling, and that he used his resources to help many artists and “Lekki queens” (a term used to describe women who reside in the affluent Lekki area of Lagos).

The singer feels betrayed and disrespected, stating that he was a mentor and benefactor to these artists, but is now being ridiculed by them online.

Oritse Femi’s allegations have brought attention to the often-unspoken dynamics between established artists and newcomers in the music industry. While some have praised his efforts in supporting upcoming talent, others have criticized his expectations of gratitude and recognition.

As the conversation continues, it remains to be seen how Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy will respond to Oritse Femi’s claims.
