A 24-year-old man, Stanley Okoruwa, was arrested for making a video that defamed businessman E-money.
In the video, Okoruwa alleged that E-money had a secret relationship with the widow of late actor Junior Pope, and even went so far as to suggest that E-money was behind Junior Pope’s passing.
While being paraded by the Nigerian Police, Okoruwa begged for forgiveness, saying “E-Money, I am so sorry for tarnishing your image. Please forgive me. I only made the video that E-Money was sleeping with Junior Pope’s wife just to gain more followers on Facebook.”
The police have commended E-money for his calm and gracious response to the situation, and have promised to take swift action against Okoruwa and anyone else who seeks to spread false and damaging information.
In a world where social media can make or break a person’s reputation, it is important to remember the power of our words and actions. Let us strive to use social media for good, and to always seek to uplift and support one another.
As Emoney himself has said, “Let us focus on building each other up, rather than tearing each other down.”
