Man Arrested with 19 ATM Cards in Lagos

A man has been arrested by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) with 19 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards in the Mobolaji Bank Anthony area.

The arrest was announced by the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Monday, May 27, via his social media handle.

According to the Commissioner, the arrest was made during an operation carried out by LAGESC operatives on May 26, 2024.

The suspect, identified as a miscreant, was found with 19 ATM cards belonging to different users, raising concerns over identity theft and fraud.

The arrest has sparked concerns among residents and financial experts, who warn that the possession of multiple ATM cards by an individual could be a sign of fraudulent activities.

ATM cards are sensitive financial instruments that contain personal and financial information, and their unauthorized use can lead to financial loss and identity theft.

The suspect is currently being interrogated by the authorities, and an investigation is underway to determine the source of the ATM cards and the extent of the fraudulent activities.
