Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Saturday, June 2, 2024, paid a condolence visit to the widows of the five soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The soldiers were killed by unknown gunmen on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in Obikabia, Obingwa Local Government Area.
Governor Otti’s visit was a gesture of comfort and empathy to the young widows, who have been left to mourn the loss of their husbands.
The soldiers, who were stationed at the 144 Battalion in Asa, Ukwa West LGA, died in active service, leaving behind their families and loved ones.
Upon arrival, Governor Otti was received by the Commander of the 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General O. O. Diya. The Governor then met with the widows, offering his condolences and support in their time of grief.
During the visit, Governor Otti praised the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers, acknowledging their bravery and dedication to their country.
He also assured the widows of his administration’s commitment to supporting them and their families, ensuring that their husbands’ sacrifices are not forgotten.
