Sister, me I no dey hear “phonetic” – Dave Umahi tells Arise Tv Reporter, Laila Johnson

During a recent media session on the Calabar-Lagos coastal lane, Dave Umahi, the former governor of Ebonyi State, made headlines with his candid remark to Arise TV reporter Laila Johnson.

When Johnson used what he referred to as “phonetic” speech, Umahi responded, “Sister, I was raised in the village, me I no dey hear ‘phonetic’.”

When Umahi asked for interpreters, Laila pushed back by saying that he has enough people around him to make him understand what she’s saying.

Shortly after the exchange, Umahi responded to Laila’s question by saying they got all the necessary approval to initiate the project.
