A fierce clash between rival hoodlum factions erupted in the Ile-Epo area of Lagos, leaving a trail of destruction as a market was set ablaze. 

The violence erupted overnight on May 1, spilling into the early hours of May 2, engulfing the marketplace in flames. 

Eyewitnesses reported chaotic scenes as residents fled in fear, while firefighters battled to contain the inferno.
