TikTok star Nickie Da Barbie has finally regained her freedom after being released from Kirikiri Prison on bail.
This comes after days of incarceration over alleged defamation. Activist Harrison Gwamnishu and his volunteer legal team worked tirelessly to secure her release.
As Harrison Gwamnishu posted on social media, “Today, we secured the release of @nickie_dabarbie from Kirikiri female Correctional Facility, Lagos State. We got involved to enable her to have a fair hearing, and in the coming days, we will be dropping further updates when necessary.”
He also expressed gratitude to his team, saying, “Thanks to @verydarkblackman for always calling and standing by, ensuring we succeed. He ensured @nickie_dabarbie gets legal representation. God bless my beautiful friend @sharplawyer_ng for rendering her legal services.”

Meanwhile, Matter Arising reported that, Nigerian singer and songwriter Mayorkun has expressed his outrage and hurt over the false accusations made by Nicki Da Barbie, who is currently remanded in prison.
Despite the ongoing trial, Mayorkun has declared that he will press full charges against Nicki Da Barbie for her damaging allegations.
Mayorkun took to his verified social media handle to express his frustration, stating that he has never met Nicki Da Barbie in real life and is still yet to understand why she would make such serious accusations against him.
He emphasized that he will not listen to anyone’s opinion and will see the charges through, even though Nicki Da Barbie is currently in prison on unrelated charges.
In his words “I have never met Nickie Da Barbie in real life, and she accused me of being a ritualist and putting something in her drink. Till this very moment, I have still never seen her with my eyes. How else can I prove that I am innocent?”
