The Enugu State House of Assembly has reportedly suspended the proposed new Pension Bill for Former Governors and their deputies.
Earlier hour Tuesday 16th of March 2021 Matter Arising reported that protestors stormed Enugu State House of Assembly demanding ‘No life pension for politicians’

Matter Arising gathered that, the controversial bill which generated was suspended following a motion move by the leader of the House, Rt. Honorable Ikechukwu Ezugwu who was alleged to have sponsored the Bill.
In his Motion to suspend the Bill, Hon Ezugwu stated the bill though not out of place, must be stepped down following the outcry of the lots which they most hearken to as their representatives within the House and emphasised on the necessity to seek the advice of extensively.
The motion was seconded by seconded by Onyinye Ugwu, the Deputy chief of the House.
In his speech, Speaker stated there are numerous provisions within the bill that aren’t constitutional like; cost of salaries to spouses of former Governors and their deputies.
