The Nigerian Military has recalled about 149 troopers of the 153 Infantry Battalion, Marte accused of abandoning the Boko Haram insurgency battle and fleeing over alleged insufficient provision of arms and ammunition.
According to report by SR, Matter Arising gathered that the troopers absconded from responsibility after insurgents attacked their camps, leaving scores of their colleagues dead.
The insurgents had on Monday, February 15 overrun Marte.

It was gathered that the gunmen came with heavy machine weapons and vehicles, and took possession of the army formation locally, together with excessive profile combating tools and automobiles.
